About Us
Pyrenees Ridge was established in 1998 and is entirely family owned and operated by Graeme and Sally-anne Jukes.
With several years’ experience working in the Yarra Valley, as well as studying Wine Science at Charles Sturt University, Graeme had the passion and desire to own a winery and vineyard where he could make high quality, specialist wines for the premium end of the market.
After a long search for a suitable site to set up a vineyard, we finally settled on a beautiful bush property about 10 km from the small township of Avoca, in the heart of the Pyrenees Wine Region. With our vision and business plan in hand, we relocated our young family from Melbourne to a new life in the country.
Our first commercial release was in 1998 and was extremely well received by consumers. We received our first wine show award from the 1999 Ballarat Wine Show for our 1999 Cabernet Sauvignon, which was awarded a “Highly Commended”, the equivalent to a silver medal for an unbottled wine.
Since 1999 Pyrenees Ridge has been awarded over 150 wine show medals, 3 trophies and over 50 very favourable reviews from highly respected Australian wine writers.
